It’s September! Time flies–we’ve reached that part of the year where I put my head down and start preparing for my end of year rush.
First some minor material matters: if you follow my Patreon you’ll notice that I’ve swapped to posting in the first week of the month instead of the last. This is mostly so that stories are going up closer to the date of subscriptions being paid out, so that patrons have the time to read instead of being limited to a day or two if they need to end a subscription for any reason. In more exciting Patreon news we are going to see our first request from a $40 tier supporter next month! Stay tuned for that!
In terms of recent work I’ve been throwing a lot of energy behind working on Honey Tree! Preparation has taken me all the way through the end of book three (“Dirty Jiu Jitsu”), and drafting through book one (“Muay Thai”), and I’m hoping to start posting once the holiday season is upon us. I drew a portrait of my leading ladies, Linden and Nairi, which you can see above (and have probably seen a few times already if you follow me on social media), and I’m working on design for the site as well.
In other writing news I’ve been keeping busy on twitter and instagram. Game writer and author Cassandra Khaw did some micro fiction exchanges on twitter as part of a birthday celebration; I’ve posted some of the ones I wrote above, and I received some absolute gems from other writers in return. I’ve also been working hard on the writer’s society at my university (Murdoch Writer’s Society), and as a result our executive team is proud to present our first writing competition for students, as well as a larger collaborative project that we’re announcing soon.
