Kmart already has the Christmas stuff out and did before the month started so I’m doubling down on celebrating Halloween this year.
It’s a Sleepover Suite month! Keep your eyes peeled on Patreon for The Candy Lady! It turns out once you get past some of the more outrageously well known urban legends you end up on ‘real history that gets told as ghost stories’, so I’ve been having difficulty sifting through some of them and trying to find ones that aren’t just ‘a real child murder from 70+ years ago that got told like it was fake once or twice’. I’ve got some outrageously long fairytale retellings sitting in my ‘to edit’ folder though, so we might be revisiting those next year, I think it would be fun to commission some illustrations and put them in epub for you guys, and I have been needing an excuse to set up a proper online storefront that isn’t just a Gumroad account with a couple of PDFs on it.
In more delightful news, one of my short stories received a commendation and was published!
Huge thanks to the Katharine Susannah Prichard Writer’s Centre for running the Spooky Story competition and anthology, and I’m looking forward to next year!
